Finally, after it became FAR too painful to continue without it, search has been added to the site! It’s not 100% complete yet…it only allows for direct searching of Performances by date and notes, but indirectly allows for searching of setlist, venue, band, tour and even bootleg taper.

So, you can search by a taper name and any Performances with a recording done by that taper will show up in the search results. Same goes for song titles…any performance with that song will show up.

It might be a little janky but as time goes on and I continue working at this, it WILL get better, I promise. I’m already looking into indexing all of the various data models on the site for localized searching of those for details/information…but the big global search will likely always be Performance-centric as it is now (from the right-hand side as well as on the home page and the Performances page.

You can search for multiple words and it will return any Performance matching any part of the string.
I.e.:
Searching for 09-10 will return both the final show at the Wiltern as well as 2007-09-15 show because the notes in that one mention rescheduling from May 10th.

Or searching for somewhat ryanj will return all performances featuring Somewhat Damaged that were recorded by RyanJ.

It’s a pretty powerful and flexible search engine and, after a little prodding (and a lot of swearing) it’s finally working in production mode. :D
